An evening of choral works by French composers, French poetry set to music, and songs inspired by France.
The main feature of the evening will be Maurice Duruflé’s wonderful Requiem, performed with organ accompaniment by a choir that is relatively small for the work, resulting in a much more personal, intimate performance than usual.
We will also be singing Debussy’s Trois Chansons de Charles d’Orléans and Lauridsen’s Chansons des Roses, both challenging but gorgeous pieces, as well as compositions by Poulenc, Canteloube, Saint-Saëns, Fauré, Lesur and Ward Swingle.
Tickets: £10 advance (£8 students), £12 on the door
